Shaping Our Future through Conversation That Matters

The World café is a powerful conversational process for thinking together, evolving collective intelligence and creating actionable results. It is an innovative yet simple forum for hosting conversations that matter.

These dialogues link and build on each other as people move between groups, cross-pollinate ideas, and discover new insights into questions or issues that are most important in our lives, our work and our communities.

At the October Seneca Falls Dialogues, the World Cafe format was adopted to inspire interactive dialogue on the topic:

HOW CAN WOMEN OF DIFFERENT GENERATIONS

AND POLITICAL PERSPECTIVES UNITE

TO BECOME A MORE EFFECTIVE FORCE

IN POLITICS FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL?

Panelists included Evolutionary Woman founder Eleanor LeCain, who joined with Peter Mott to address the topic from their perspective and expertise. Then, facilitator Marilyn Tedeschi guided participants through the process of working in small groups and then sharing their group's findings with the rest of the World Cafe audience.

The café process will continue through the further development of the Seneca Falls Dialogues web site. Coordinators will continue to faciliatate dialogue via an online forum currently in the planning stages. This method of continued communication among Dialogue supporters will take us into the future and engage us in a discussion about shaping a political system that works - with women an equal partner in the process.

Together we should ask how we can evolve our political system, with a focus on how women can change the face of politics -- this is our CALL TO ACTION!
